An RV refrigerator that completely stops working is frustrating. An RV refrigerator that works sometimes and then mysteriously stops cooling can be even harder to figure out.

First, What Type of RV Refrigerator Do You Have?
This is one of the first questions that should be answered during diagnosis because not every RV refrigerator uses power the same way.
Depending on your RV, you may have:
- a traditional absorption refrigerator that operates on propane and 120-volt AC power
- a 12-volt compressor refrigerator
- a residential-style 120-volt refrigerator powered through shore power, a generator or an inverter
